About Dr. Ashraf

Dr. Azra Ashraf is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon practicing in the DC-metro region. She offers both cosmetic surgeries and non-invasive aesthetic treatments for anti-aging, body contouring, breast enhancement, hair transplant, skincare, etc. and other cosmetic treatments to men and women.

She is a highly skilled surgeon who also has an artistic eye for detailing. This attribute allows her to produce natural-looking and exceptional results. She is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and had attended Brown Medical School and Brown University to pursue her academic career. Subsequently, she has completed her training in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Azra Ashraf has also distinguished herself by completing an additional year in comprehensive breast reconstruction, including microvascular and aesthetic breast reconstruction at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, which is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.

She was raised in Asia, Africa, Middle East and in the United States of America. During her international upbringing, she was exposed to the disparities in health care. She was also exposed to gender inequality in different societies, in terms of access and barriers to care. These exposures influenced her decisions and encouraged her to pursue an undergraduate degree in Public Policy. She has also completed her master’s in Public Health from Harvard University. Her passion for women’s health and restoring their well-being led her to complete a fellowship year on breast reconstruction.

She has been schooled and trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. She has also written and published papers and chapters for different books. Dr. Ashraf is also an integral member of several medical societies. She took proud of her impact and contribution that she made in helping the rehabilitate women who have suffered for domestic violence in Karachi, Pakistan.

She got the opportunity to travel and teach in Karachi with Dr. Mohammad Javad who was featured in an Academy Award-winning documentary, Saving Face released in 2012.

Her extensive training and education in cosmetic treatments have shaped her unique approach to fulfil the aesthetic needs of her patients. She is committed to bringing the best possible aesthetic results to her patients throughout the DC-metro region. In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
